Aaron David DeCollibus has been promoted to Managing Director of the Bellevue commercial real estate appraisal firm CJM Advisors as part of the company’s long-range strategic planning.

CJM’s President, Chuck Munson, MAI, ASA, AI-GRS, welcomed the move. “When I started CJM over 25 years ago in my living room, I had a vision of eventually covering the entire west coast. We’ve appraised in Washington, Oregon, and California, but have not become permanently imbedded in all three states. With Aaron taking the helm, we’ll stay the course and, with Aaron’s ability and drive, the vision should become reality.”

DeCollibus added, “I have plans to extend our geographic areas of coverage into California, Nevada, and Oregon, to expand our professional expertise into eminent domain, and estate planning, as well as to increase our focus on market and feasibility studies.”

In addition to real estate, Mr. DeCollibus was the Offensive Coordinator for the 2014 state champion Eastside Catholic football team, and is father to three daughters. His wife, Kristine Patterson, is a Senior Vice President at Cascadia Capital in Seattle.

“It’s an honor to be able to continue Chuck Munson’s tradition of excellence,” said Mr. DeCollibus on accepting his new role. Mr. Munson was voted 2014 Appraiser of the Year by the Seattle Chapter of the Appraisal Institute, an honor given in recognition of appraisal ability as well as time and talent contributed to the appraisal profession and the Chapter.

Mr. DeCollibus received his M.B.A with an emphasis in finance from Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management and is Argus Software Certified (ASC) in Valuation-DCF. He is a State-Certified General Appraiser, candidate for the MAI designation with the Appraisal Institute, member of the International Right of Way Association, and Licensed Washington Real Estate Designated Broker; his 12 years as an investor and broker in Washington, California and Texas further complement his appraisal work.

CJM’s ten appraisers come from a variety of backgrounds in real estate, finance, planning, and education. Three individuals hold the Appraisal Institute’s MAI designation, one individual holds the AI- GRS designation, and one holds the ASA designation. Designated members have met rigorous requirements relating to education, testing, experience and demonstration of knowledge, understanding and ability. Appraisers who hold the MAI designation are experienced in valuation and evaluation of commercial, industrial, residential, and other types of properties, making these appraisers well-qualified to advise their clients on a broad range of real estate decisions.

The Appraisal Institute is a global professional association of professional real estate appraisers, with nearly 22,000 professionals in almost 60 countries throughout the world. Its mission is to advance professionalism and ethics, global standards, methodologies, and practices through the professional development of property economics worldwide.
