Axos Bank, the banking subsidiary of Axos Financial, Inc., announced that it has signed a deposit assumption agreement to acquire approximately $225 million of deposits, including approximately $194 million of checking, savings and money market accounts and $31 million of time deposits, from MWABank. - Revenue of $830 million, a 25% increase compared to $662 million in the second quarter of 2017
- GAAP net income attributable to Illumina stockholders for the quarter of $209 million, or $1.41 per diluted share, compared to $128 million, or $0.87 per diluted share, for the second quarter of 2017
- Non-GAAP net income attributable to Illumina stockholders for the quarter of $212 million, or $1.43 per diluted share, compared to $121 million, or $0.82 per diluted share, for the second quarter of 2017.
- Cash flow from operations of $295 million compared to $178 million in the second quarter of 2017
- Free cash flow (cash flow from operations less capital expenditures) of $218 million for the quarter, compared to $109 million in the second quarter of 2017

Following a rise in complaints from customers about water bills, Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer has directed staff to implement all of the recommendations from two separate independent audits of the City’s Public Utilities Department (PUD). The reports reached similar conclusions about the need for significant improvements and operational changes within the department.

San Diego-based Qualcomm terminates of the acquisition of NXP Semiconductors effective immediately. In accordance with the terms of the purchase agreement, Qualcomm River Holdings will pay a termination fee of $2 billion to NXP on July 26, 2018. In connection with this termination, Qualcomm River Holdings has terminated its previously announced cash tender offer to acquire all of the outstanding shares of NXP. This decision for Qualcomm terminates the NXP deal appears to be the result of Qualcomm’s frustration with not being able to get China to approve the deal after most of the rest of the other countries involved had.
China and the US are currently involved in a trade dispute regarding uneven trade and tariffs each country are putting on each other. It is also appropriate to note that US President Donald Trump earlier in the year, nixed Broadcom’s attempted hostile takeover of Qualcomm in the interest of national security.
