Qualcomm Incorporated announced on September 13, 2018, that it has entered into accelerated share repurchase agreements with each of Bank of America, N.A., Citibank, N.A. and Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC to repurchase an aggregate of $16 billion of the company’s common stock, with an initial delivery to Qualcomm of approximately 178 million shares in the aggregate.
Qualcomm $16 Billion Share Repurchase
The final number of shares to be repurchased will be based on the volume-weighted average price of Qualcomm’s common stock during the term of the transaction, less a discount and subject to adjustments pursuant to the terms and conditions of the ASR Agreements. The company is funding the accelerated share repurchase with existing cash resources.
San Diego – based Qualcomm Technologies International recently announced that the Qualcomm Smart Audio Platform has been qualified by Amazon for the Alexa Voice Service (AVS). This reference platform incorporates the hardware and software building-blocks required to facilitate rapid commercialization of smart speaker and networked audio solutions, and it is the first announced fully end-to-end audio processing and system reference design for AVS from a single vendor.
San Diego – based Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated, EE and Sony Mobile Communications today showcased Europe’s first commercial Gigabit LTE/4G mobile device and network.
During the event, the companies showcased the benefits of Gigabit LTE in four real-life use cases:
1) streaming 4K HDR10 content from Amazon Prime
2) speed improvements for downloading large files via Google Drive
3) download of music/video files for offline use, and
4) a network simulation showcasing the network-wide benefits of deploying Gigabit LTE.

San Diego – based Qualcomm Incorporated recently announced that its subsidiary, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. (QTI), is launching its vulnerability rewards program designed to expand collaboration with invited white hat hackers who improve the security of the Qualcomm Snapdragon family of processors, LTE modems and related technologies. The program is the first of its kind to be announced by a major silicon vendor, and will be administered in collaboration with vulnerability coordination platform HackerOne, offering rewards of up to $15,000 USD per vulnerability as well as recognition in either the QTI Product Security or the CodeAuroraForum Hall of Fame, depending on the nature of the submission.
