ARCTIC ZERO Fit Frozen Desserts provide healthy alternative to ice cream for millions of Americans
This week, Inc. magazine recognized ARCTIC ZERO, the pioneer of Fit Frozen Desserts, as one of the nation’s 5000 fastest-growing private companies for the second year in a row. The company is #2771 in the elite ranking, which evaluates companies based on their revenue growth over the past three years. The only healthy frozen dessert brand to appear on the list, ARCTIC ZERO is a leader in clean indulgence – offering whey protein-based frozen desserts that are low in calories, fat and sugar, lactose-free and free of GMOs and artificial ingredients.
“Research shows that consumers have been abandoning the frozen desserts aisle, believing the category is unhealthy – ARCTIC ZERO is bringing them back,” said CEO Amit Pandhi. “Our growth, and presence on the Inc. 5000 list underscores that ARCTIC ZERO is filling a previously unmet need.”
“Everyone loves ice cream, but millions of people can’t have it due to dietary restrictions – and millions more avoid it because they are trying to get or stay fit,” said Pandhi. “For those people, we are more than just a healthy alternative; it’s a healthy alternative that genuinely satisfies an ice cream craving.”
ARCTIC ZERO has experienced three-year revenue growth (2012-2015) of 126 percent. Its products, including creamy and chunky pints and chocolate-dipped bars, are available in more than 14,000 retail locations nationwide.
The Inc. 5000 list represents the most successful independent small businesses within the US economy. Notable alumni of the list include Intuit, Zappos, Under Armour, Microsoft and Patagonia. This year’s list reflects the nation’s continued embrace of healthier foods; in addition to ARCTIC ZERO, a number of other brands the magazine deems “virtuous food companies” appear in the ranks – all in categories outside of frozen desserts.
The 2016 Inc. 5000 has an aggregate revenue of $200 billion, and the companies on the list collectively generated 640,000 jobs over the past three years, or about 8% of all jobs created in the entire economy during that period.
In June, CNBC’s Mad Money featured ARCTIC ZERO, in an “Off the Tape” feature, which also recognizes fast-growing privately held companies.
