Another section of cliff between the train tracks and the Pacific Ocean has collapsed into the sea. It slowed down train service throughout the morning (we noticed that as the trains passed much more slowly through Del Mar) and took out a portion of a trail used by surfers to get to the beach.
This is at least the 4th partial collapse in recent months. One has to wonder how much longer the Amtrack and Coaster trains will be able to operate safely on the same tracks …
