Newly created role will help advance League s consumer-first approach to employee benefits
LEAGUE, the digital alternative to traditional health insurance, has hired Lori Casselman as its Chief Health Officer. Casselman joins LEAGUE following an extended run at Sun Life Financial where she held several executive roles in its Group Benefits organization, specializing in integrated health solutions.
“The healthcare system needs a multidisciplinary, consumer-oriented approach to address prevention, education and treatment opportunities,” said Casselman. “Technology can enable and empower consumers to understand and manage their own health in ways we have yet to imagine, and there is tremendous potential to change the traditional landscape of health benefits. With over 20 years of leadership in the health, wellness and insurance industries, Casselman brings a wealth of experience to the team. Her expertise in a variety of healthcare models – focusing on physical, mental and financial well-being – will be of great value as LEAGUE expands its health professional network, insured solutions and corporate health offerings.

Prior to Sun Life, Casselman was an executive with Buffett & Company, an innovative health and wellness startup, acquired by Sun Life Financial. She has also held positions on several industry advisory boards, including the Sanofi-Aventis Healthcare Survey, Health, Work & Wellness Conference, and Get Active Toronto.
