The Author Joe Kennedy with wife Stacia, in-laws Gordon and Louise Loo and Hawaii Music Legend Henry Kapono

Fresh off of winning this year’s Na Hoku Hanohano award for best EP – “We Ride” with the Rough Riders (featuring Kapono, Brother Noland, and John Cruz) living Hawaii music legend Henry Kapono will play the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach tomorrow, Wednesday July 13th at 8pm.

While on Oahu, it is always a great time to see Henry play anywhere, but especially on the sandy beach of Waikiki off of the patio

at Duke’s on most Sunday evenings.  He’s a super nice guy – and a great singer, songwriter and guitar player.

One of my favorite Kapono songs is “Home in the Islands” which you can watch and hear in this Yo
uTube Video:

Stacia Kennedy actually wanted him to play at our wedding in Kaneohe last October, but our schedules just would not mesh, so it would be real cool to go see him play here in San Diego.  Anyone have an extra ticket?  Stacia’s got to work early and cannot go, and I need to save money for our new bundle of joy (Ava Kalea) – but it would be really cool if someone has an extra ticket for me ….. I’d gladly buy you a drink …..

Here’s the promo direct from the Belly Up’s site:
