Columbia Generating Station reconnects to power grid

Energy Northwest logoEnergy Northwest’s Columbia Generating Station reconnected to the Northwest power grid early this morning and operators are slowly raising the power level to 100 percent. Full power is anticipated this weekend.

Silva receives University of Washington Bothell’s 2016 Distinguished Teaching Award

 Janelle Silva, Ph.D., is the recipient of the University of Washington Bothell’s 2016 Distinguished Teaching AwardJanelle Silva, Ph.D., is the recipient of the University of Washington Bothell’s 2016 Distinguished Teaching Award. Silva is an assistant professor of community psychology in the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences. 

The selection committee was impressed with the number of former students who nominated Silva for the award. 

“The common theme was the inspiration to achieve their greatest potential as students and as people,” the committee wrote. “Her impact has been especially evident among young women of color, individuals who otherwise can feel especially alienated on a college campus.”
