Having built and cultivated his collection of hard-to-find labels through the severe highs and lows of the last 40 years – including the 2008 recession and the meteoric rise of online shopping – Robinson views each challenge as an opportunity to reinvent his brand and the vendors it represents. While location has certainly played a role in his success, with stores in Santa Monica and on Melrose Avenue, Robinson attributes his continued progress to a “new-world vision” coupled with “old-world values.” Relying on a close-knit, dedicated and talented team, some of whom have been involved with the brand for 24 years, Robinson enjoys a strong following of loyal customers who return not just for the curated fashion, but for the experience of recreating themselves.

“I see fashion as a form of communication and expression,” Robinson explains, “For me, being a retailer means giving people the platform to express who they are through fashion.
