Affordable, convenient classes provide education to help launch careers
BELLEVUE, Wash. — Bellevue College (BC), the third largest educational institution in Washington State, is currently enrolling students for spring quarter classes that begin April 4, 2016. As a leader in workforce development, BC offers an affordable path to degrees that help residents of the Eastside and the Puget Sound region launch careers in health sciences, information technology, business, criminal justice and many other high-demand fields.

Bellevue College recently received approval from the Northwest Commission of Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) to offer two new bachelor’s degree programs – in Health Promotion Management and Healthcare Management and Leadership– that will provide area residents with affordable paths to family-wage jobs in these growing fields.  The two programs raise the total number of four-year degrees offered at BC to 10.
In July 2015, the Washington state Legislature approved a budget proviso providing Bellevue College a state appropriation to develop a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.  The College is currently in phase II of the development process and is scheduled to begin accepting students fall quarter 2016, pending State Board for Community and Technical Colleges and NWCCU approval.  This will establish BC’s first four-year Bachelor of Science program open to freshman, sophomore, juniors, and seniors.  To date, BC’s bachelor programs have been two-year, applied baccalaureate degrees, designed for the professional/technical student with an AA degree.
In addition to 76 online degrees and certificates and 23 associate degree programs, BC offers a well-respectedtransfer program that sends more students to the University of Washington than any other community college in the state. By attending BC for the first two years of college and then transferring to four-year colleges or universities, students can save thousands of dollars on the cost of their education.
Flexible scheduling options, including day, evening, weekend, and online courses (several programs are now offered entirely online), make pursuing a degree or certificate more convenient than ever.
