At the 2016 National Grape and Wine Policy Conference, the Winegrape Growers of America (WGA) elected Todd Newhouse as Board Chairman. Newhouse is the owner of Upland Vineyards in Outlook, Washington and also serves as the Board Chairman for the Washington Association of Wine Grape Growers (WAWGG).

During the Conference, WineAmerica also elected officers for the coming year. Martin Clubb of L’Ecole No. 41 in Walla Walla, Washington and WAWGG member was elected to the position of Vice Chair.

Each year, WGA and WineAmerica co-host the National Grape and Wine Policy Conference in Washington, DC. The Conference attracts wine leaders from around the country to meet and weigh in on the most pressing public policy issues affecting growers and wineries.

WGA was formed in 1978 to represent the national wine grape growing industry and is based on the power of unity, cooperation, and efficiency. WineAmerica was formed the same year to encourage the dynamic growth and development of American wineries and winegrowing through the advancement and advocacy of sound public policy.

WAWGG works to enhance the industry—through advocacy and education—for growers, vintners, partners and policymakers.
