About Joe “The Connector” Kennedy

I am passionate about social media and networking. People have called me a Connector, Influencer and Community Builder.

As former publisher of Eastside Business newspaper and Bellevue Business Journal and founder of Eastside Entrepreneurs in Bellevue, Washington I have promoted and supported local business for many years and have been instrumental in building community.

Since closing the page on my print publications in 8/09, I have been actively consulting with many small business with regards to their need to learn about and start taking part in social media.  Along with setting up and training on many different platforms, I’ve also built a number of Web 2.0 sites for a number of clients.

Eastside Entrepreneurs has grown to more than 1,700 local members since October 2008 and has held many successful networking and business events.  I have produced and spoken at a number of social media events, including the Social Networking for Business at The Parlor Live, Social Media 101 at Microsoft in October 2009 and Social Media 201 which will be held at the Conference Center on Microsoft’s Redmond campus on April 15th, 2010.

My greatly varied experiences include attending and/or showing at conferences, trade shows and industry events such as CES, Business Blog Summit, Gnomedex, Social Media Club events and other business events through various chambers of commerce and other business groups.  I have been a road warrior and biz dev guy who loves to meet new people and connect them with businesses and people who can help them.
