When Is It Okay to Use a .biz Domain Name?

I’ve started to build out my new personal Web 2.0 Website / blog here at JoeKennedy.biz.  According to the book Trust Agents by Chris Brogan and Julien Smith, people have a tendency to trust .com domain names more than domains with other extensions – including .biz.  In my case, as in many, my name is not uncommon (in fact there are some very famous and notable people who I share it with).

I wanted to use a domain with my name in it, so I chose JoeKennedy.biz (I guess I wasn’t clever or creative enough).  Do you trust me any less because of it?  When is it okay to use a .biz domain name?  Ever?  Does it really matter these days?  How important is a domain name?  If you were in my position, what domain name would you have used?

I’d love to hear your ideas and suggestions.

BTW – I’d also like to say “Skidoodleski” (a special code word for Google alerts) – and to claim this blog on Technorati, I need to include this claim token YDRX9NRVANEA.
